Montreal, November 1, 2014. This year again, on November 22, 2014, the German Society of Montreal invites to its traditional Christmas Bazaar, that attracted over 1 000 visitors last year. The Christmas Bazaar offers a wide selection of German dishes, cakes and beverages, such as the hot mulled wine typical for this time and season. It also features a large selection of items for the Christmas Season such as decorations, German bakeries and gifts. In addition, books in German, English and French are attracting a large number of readers.
Highlights of the afternoon are the performance of the German Choir singing Christmas carols, as well as the tombola with over 50 great prices.
”We are proud that the Montreal community supports so generously the fundraising activities of the German Society”, comments Dr.Gisela Steinle, president of the German Society of Montreal. ”Our organization supports not only institutions related to the German culture and education, such as German language schools, but also hospitals and community organisations assisting people in need.”

About the German Society of Montreal
Founded in 1835, the German Society of Montreal is one of the eldest charitable organization in Montreal to assist initially German immigrants to integrate into the Montreal society. Over the years, the mandate of the Society has been enlarged to support people in need, regardless their cultural or ethnic background, as well as keep alive and promote the German language and cultural heritage in Montréal through its own initiatives and by supporting Montreal-based German schools and organizations.
