About the German Gala Ball 2012
Every year the German Society of Montréal organizes the German Gala Ball. A highlight of the Montreal social calendar, the German Gala Ball continues with old European tradition by introducing the debutantes and escorts to the society. Program features include also a Champagne reception, an exquisite four-course gala dinner, two live orchestras, ball room dancing, and entertainment by internationally known performers.
The German Gala Ball attracts each year more than 300 guests. Many of them are part of the Montreal finance and business community representing Investissement Québec, CDP, National Bank of Canada as well as Bombardier, Mercedes, Lufthansa, SAP, Mobilia or Miele – to name a few.
Organizations having profited in the recent past of the German Society’s fundraising efforts are The Old Brewery Mission, Dans la Rue, Générations, the German International School of Montreal "Alexander von Humboldt", hospital foundations and various local non-profit initiatives.
The Wapikoni Mobile initiative, the German Society’s Relief and Welfare Fund as well as the German International School of Montreal "Alexander von Humboldt" Endowment Fund will be benefiting from the proceeds of the German Gala Ball 2012.
The Wapikoni Mobile project has been selected by this year’s guest of honour The Honorable Céline Hervieux-Payette, Senator. This initiative provides young Aboriginals the opportunity to express themselves using video and music by offering practical training sessions from scenario writing to film production.
