German Society announces first Stammtisch event: German Montréal 6à8

We regularly receive requests inquiring about Stammtisch (German: meeting place) events for the German community in Montréal. This demand was confirmed in our survey conducted this summer - members as well as non-members are looking for more way in which they can meet and get together. We are happy to announce that we will hold our first German Montréal 6à8 event at Les 3 Brasseurs on the cornor of Sainte-Catherine Street and McGill College Av. on October 17 starting at 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome!

Oktoberfest des Québécois

Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Check out the Oktoberfest des Québécois happening this weekend in Repentigny! This Bavarian-inspired event focusses on highlighting the products of Québec microbreweries and other local producers of wines, cidres, etc.

Montreal World Film Festival: Reception at the Goethe-Institut

On Saturday, August 24, the German Society of Montreal was invited to a special reception honoring the German films nominated at the Montreal World Film Festival. The event was organized by the Consulate General of Germany, the State of Bavaria Quebec Office, the Goethe-Institut Montréal and German Films. The Society was represented by its secretary Nico Ahn.

The Society thanks the Goethe-Institut for the invitation to the event.

Scholarship for Master's student at Université de Montréal

The German Society is proud to announce its 5-year scholarship program supporting graduate students in the Département de littératures et de langues modernes (Études allemandes) at the Université de Montréal. A $ 500.00 scholarship will be awarded by the department to a graduate student each year.

Development of a Strategic Plan for the Society

The Board of Directors of the German Society is currently working on developping a strategic plan for the Society.
