Ratification of the revised by-laws

On April 16, 2014, the members of the Society formally ratified the revised by-laws of the German Society. This change marks the beginning of a new era for the German Society, as they will improve board efficiency and modernize decision making in the organization.

The by-laws revision was conducted by the By-Law Review commitee (Neville-Warren Cloutier and Nico Ahn) between June 2013 and January 2014. The proposed by-laws we adopted by the Board of Directors on January 14, 2014.

German Society in transition

This week on Wednesday, the members of the Society will meet to vote on the ratification of the revised by-laws of the Society. The revision is the first change to the Society's by-laws since 1992. The proposed changes were adopted to improve the efficientcy of the Society, its board and its committees and to modernize the way the Society does business.

Update of the By-Laws of the German Society of Montreal

Important Information

On January 14, 2014, the Board of Directors of the German Society unanimously adopted the newly revised by-laws governing the administration of the Society, presented by the members of the By-Law Review Committee, Me Neville Warren Cloutier and Nico Ahn, Secretary of the Society. The new by-laws ensure the continued improvement of our organization for years to come. The following pages will summarize the key changes made to the by-laws.

Anniversary Ball of the German Society

In order to get started with the preparations for our 180th Anniversary Ball in 2015, we would like to encourage all of you, but especially our younger members, to e-mail us at ball2015@germansociety.ca and let us know if and how you are willing to help prepare, organize, and help run the Ball. Stammtisch Update

Due to the increasing success of the German Montreal Stammtisch since last October, we have deciced that the event is here to stay.

Yesterday, over 20 people came together at the 6à8 Stammtisch at Les 3-Brasseurs on McGill College Avenue and Ste.-Cartherine Street. From now on we will organize the Stammtisch every third Wednesday of the month.

Christmas Bazaar 2013: A success!

We are happy report of our very successful bazaar on November 23. The number of visitors was almost overwhelming – we had substantially more guests than last year, probably largely due to advertising in the press, on our website, and also on Facebook. We were also happy to see so many young faces at the bazaar, both as guests and volunteers.
